Marketplace & Energy Assets
The Energy Assets module is NEIIA's premier marketplace for listing, discovering, and trading physical and synthetic energy assets including electricity, carbon credits, and specialized natural gas contracts.
Listing an Asset
To list an asset, navigate to "My Assets" and click "New Listing". You will need to provide verified ownership documentation, technical specifications (e.g., MWh capacity, vintage), and set your clearing preference (fixed price or auction).
Placing Bids
- Verification: Before bidding, your firm must pass KYC/AML checks and demonstrate proof of funds.
- Auctions: In an auction, bids are binding. Ensure your max bid accounts for platform clearing fees.
- Settlement: Once a bid clears, settlement instructions are generated automatically. Funds are held in escrow until title transfer is confirmed.
Troubleshooting
Why was my listing rejected during verification?
Listings are typically rejected if the provided title documentation is expired, incomplete, or if the asset's geolocation coordinates do not match the grid registry. Review the rejection notes in your dashboard.
Are carbon credits retired automatically?
Yes. If you purchase carbon credits through the platform with the "Retire on Purchase" flag set, NEIIA automatically communicates with the registry to retire them in your firm's name.
